Benjamin Mugisha, popularly known by his stage name The Ben (born January 9, 1987 (age 34) in Kampala, Uganda to Jean Mbonimpa and Esther Mbabazi) is a Rwandan singer-songwriter. In 2008, he was awarded as the "Best Afro R&B Singer of the Year" in Rwanda.
Ben was invited to perform at the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2010, he moved to the United States where he collaborated with Detroit based hip-hop artist Mike-E Ellison. Later, he was invited to perform at the UN headquarters.
